The Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) is a global technical and operational partnership which was established in 2000 by the World Health Organization as a key mechanism to engage the resources of technical agencies for rapid identification, confirmation, risk assessment and response to public health emergencies of international importance. Currently, there are 22 GOARN partners in the Region. To strengthen engagement of partners and facilitate partner interactions a Regional GOARN Partners Meeting was held during 15-16 March 2023 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Around 65 participants from 21 of the 22 GOARN regional partners along with potential partners and WHO staff at all three levels of the organization participated in the meeting. Participants were sensitized about the GOARN Strategy 2022-26 and discussions on other strategic partnerships, operations research, GOARN operations and process were explained. Country experiences were shared and deliberated upon. Recommendations were made on regionalization of GOARN and further strengthening of communications and engagement.
