22-26 May | Nagarkot, Bagmati Province – The Global Task Force on Cholera Control (GTFCC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) and WHO, Country Office for Nepal, organized a training on requesting access to Oral Cholera Vaccines (OCV) during outbreaks and non-emergency situations. Over 40 senior officials from Ministries of Health from WHO South-East Asia Member States (India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Nepal) and partner organizations were trained on preparing OCV requests proposals, understanding key data requirements, and use of relevant tools for submission of request for vaccines. Participants were also trained on developing a multi-year plan that prioritizes preventive campaigns in cholera hotspots, utilizing an in-depth understanding of key monitoring and evaluation activities. The facilitators for the training were from GTFCC, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and WHO.
