High-Level Coalition on Health and Energy
The High-Level Coalition on Health and Energy was convened by the WHO Director-General in 2019 with the goal of strengthening the cooperation between health and energy sectors, increasing political momentum, spurring investments, mobilizing public support, and driving practical solutions. To date, the Coalition includes several Ministers of Health and Energy, heads of international organizations as well as Health and Energy Champions.
The first meeting of the Coalition took place on 9 June 2021. The virtual meeting was attended by over 20 leaders and culminated with the unanimous endorsement of the Strategic Roadmap to promote healthier populations through clean and sustainable energy. As a follow-up of the first meeting of the High-Level Coalition on Health and Energy in 2021, the second meeting is scheduled for October 7, 2022.
