Global understanding of the natural history of mpox, its clinical features, risk factors for severe disease and outcomes remains incomplete. In response, WHO has created a Global Clinical Platform of patient-level anonymized clinical data. It is a secure, limited-access, password-protected platform hosted on REDCap.

The objectives of the Platform are to:

1. Describe the clinical characteristics of mpox;
2. Assess the variations in clinical characteristics of mpox;
3. Identify the association of clinical characteristics of mpox with outcomes; and
4. Describe the temporal trends in clinical characteristics of mpox.

WHO invites Member States, health facilities and other entities to participate in the global effort to collect anonymized clinical data relating to suspected or confirmed cases of mpox and contribute data to the WHO Global Clinical Platform. 

WHO has developed a clinical characterization case report forms (CRF) to standardize data collection of clinical features of mpox among outpatient and hospitalized cases. 

Options to contribute clinical anonymized data:

1. Directly into the electronic WHO Platform
2. Sharing established databases
3. From printed paper CRFs, with data entered in the WHO Platform thereafter.

Steps to contribute to the platform:

1. Create your profile by registering.
2. Review the terms of use.
3. After a few days, you will receive an email with the login credentials to access the WHO Platform, or, if you are sharing an established database, additional instructions to contribute data.
