WHO Risk Management Strategy
Reducing uncertainty around the achievement of WHO’s objectives and outcomes
Overview
The WHO Risk Management Strategy has been developed over the past 18 months through discussion with representatives from WHO Country Offices, Regional Offices and Headquarters, drawing together programmatic, technical and administrative perspectives.
This WHO strategy describes more mature enterprise risk management (ERM) systems and practices across the three levels of the Organization, which have been approved by the Global Risk Management Committee. The strategy sets out actions to strengthen a risk aware culture in the Organization, among Member States and implementing partners, as well as clear roles and responsibilities for risk-based decision-making to ensure that WHO operates in accordance with its Risk Appetite to achieve its objectives.
