UN General Assembly side event - Promoting the health of refugees and migrants: are we on the right path to evidence‐informed policymaking?

20 September 2022 18:15 – 20:15 ET

Join us at the UN General Assembly high-level side event on evidence-informed policymaking in migration and health, which will take place on 20 September 2022 from 18:15 to 20:15 EST (timezone converter) in New York and will be live-streamed globally on Zoom.

The event will showcase good practices from countries that have taken significant steps forward for better evidence for refugee and migrant health and health system planning and service delivery.

The key findings from the newly launched WHO’s first World report on the health of refugees and migrants will also be presented. The report provides a first global snapshot of the health status of refugees and migrants, represents a key step towards a global base of evidence regarding these populations, and is an evidence-informed advocacy tool for governments and global stakeholders.

The event is co-sponsored by Permanent Mission of Luxembourg to the United Nations in New York, Permanent Mission of Colombia to the United Nations in New York, WHO (Health and Migration Programme), IOM, IFRC, UN Foundation, and UNHCR.
